Sometimes things work out nicely.

iPod nanoSo a few weeks ago, my beloved iPod died. I thought it was all over, the angels had sung. But it miraculously resurrected itself from the dead a day or two later when I checked on it. Then last Thursday it died again. So I plugged it in for a couple days thinking it might resurrect itself again. Nay. It had kicked the bucket. So it was time to go to Best Buy to see if the replacement plan I purchased for my iPod would come to good use.

What I had was a silver 4GB iPod nano that was $199.99 when I bought it. I guess it was the “2nd generation”. The tall skinny one. And apparently the iPod nano that goes for that price now is one of those new little 8GB iPods that also have video capability. So I exchanged my old one for a new black shiny 8GB iPod nano. Yay for me!

I had to buy a new replacement plan for the new iPod, but I got the iPod itself for free. The replacement plan was $30. AND the guy tells me it’s “$20 off an iPod day”, so I got a $20 gift card. So it was like I got a brand new iPod that had twice the capacity of my old one for $10. Hell yeah. A new iPod once a year for $30? I’ll take that deal.

It’s so sexy. That’s my new baby now. I listen to my iPod when I’m driving and all day at work. So it gets used a lot. I missed it dearly those days it was deceased and I hadn’t gotten the new one. But now I can be happy and my ears filled with music. Believe me, I need it to drown out annoying coworker voices.

And you know the reason #46841 why Pay-Per-Post spamblogs suck? I actually hesitated writing about my new iPod experience because I was worried it might look like a spammy sponsored post and people might turn away from this site, much like I do anytime I come across a blog that looks like it has sponsored posts. Rest assured, there are no links in this post, no one paid me anything, and I was simply writing about my experience of losing my beloved old iPod and replacing it with a newer sexier model. There are actually several instances where I’ve wanted to talk about a purchase or product I enjoyed, and I don’t because PPP spamblogs have ruined my desire to give personal testimonials about things, for fear it’ll look like a spamblog. So here’s a big fuck you to those spammers who have ruined blogging for the rest of us.

Sounds like your Ipod died right around the time my TV passed, although the tv is working fine now, it did the whole resurrecting deal also. Once its officially done I will be forking out big bucks for a nice Hi-Def, LCD tv. *drool*

That would be… all kinds of awesome. I’m still an iPod virgin, though a blue 8gig is coming my way for Christmas, I hear.

The sponsored post thing has ruined blogging. Any time I come across a testimonial or plug of some sort, I feel compelled to check for signs of sponsorship before actually reading the post. I was tricked too many times – in the early days of Pay-Per-Post – into reading something vaguely interesting about blooming tea or a new online community… just to realize at the end that the blogger probably has no experience with (or interest in) the subject at all.

An iPod for $30?? Where are you living again? *whips out pen and paper*

I initially wanted one myself, but since they’re quite expensive here, I got myself a “fancier” MP3 player, but I rarely use it now… It cost much less and I only needed it to listen to music while at work… till I finally got my lazy backside to the shop and bought headphones :P

    I like geeky stuff, but I’m such a cheapskate when it comes to buying gadgets -.-;

Unfortunately I had to pay the $199.99 when I bought the iPod originally last year, Vera! The $30 is for the replacement plan. A good investment when buying an iPod, I would say. I use the thing all day every day, I don’t think I could live without it now.

Yay for new gizzies!! Although I’m sorry your beloved iPod died, I’ve been wondering how cool those new iPod Nanos really are. I adore my iPod (with the color screen) as I love my iPhone… I can’t imagine going without either, now. I’m such a techie junkie.

Double the Gigs for $10, now that is a deal worth looking for.

I have a 2nd generation IPod myself, but I’m giving into the whole “Zune experience.” To me, the IPod is a staple for all MP3 player’s out there. We no longer ask, “What do you have on your MP3 player?” Now we just ask, “Oh, what’s on your iPod?” Plus, the Zune’s so sleek :3

    Nonetheless, your Nano looks sexy.

I have the 3rd generation nano (the one you now have) in red. I love it so much. It’s exactly the right size to fit in my hand. I felt the iPod classic was a bit too chunky, and I didn’t need all that space. So, I saved a bit of money, and got me a nice sleek little nano. :)

Yay for the new iPod for only $10! Lucky :D

I know what you mean about posting links that could be seen as some sort of paid advertisement; it makes me feel like I’m selling out :(

Don’t worry, this wasn’t spammy. You got quite the deal. Those new ipods, though, look SO out of proportion to me. Like midgets. You’d think I like them because I’m short, but I don’t. Just don’t. Of course, I don’t really like iPods.
