I got a new dog yesterday. Of course the dog pulled the bandage off her paw last night, so I have to take her to a vet to get it replaced right away. First available appointment is 8:40, and I’m suppose to be at work at 8. She’ll probably be getting a cone, for at least the times I can’t keep an eye on her to stop her from bothering the bandage.
I’m not sure I even want to know how much this vet trip will cost… She’s already been a bit expensive, especially when I had to drop $140 on a crate for the house, when I hadn’t planned on having one. The dog was $160.
Other than the bandage, she was pretty good at night. I only heard her whine when I got up to go to the bathroom at one point, I’m sure she heard me get up and move around (she’s downstairs in the crate, bedroom and bathroom are upstairs). She whined earlier in the evening before I went to bed, but I didn’t talk to her or come see her, I don’t want to reward her whining. So I just went about my business. Hopefully it’ll become less and less. She generally seems to like the crate. Just now I had her next to me, but she opted to go in to her little bed.
Oh awesome, I could hear a dog barking outside, and she didnt even flinch! My family’s dog we had a few years ago would have flipped her shit at that. It was nice, my mom came over last night and knocked on the door, and she didn’t bark at all. Yayyyy not a barky dog!
She’s so good in so many ways, I hope the bad stuff (going for the cats, whining a bit much) get better soon. And her poor paw. It looks so pathetic, just the sight of it, and her trying to walk mostly on 3 legs.
